Watched Sherlock last night. Safe to say I was in tears in the end mainly due to the amazing acting skills of Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman.

Honestly recommend watching if you haven't. Both series are superb. Best TV in a long time.

Now all I need is fluffy post Reichenbach fics. Actually any fluffy fic will do right now. Help?

So today in a nutshell.

Accidentally killed a mouse. I didn't mean to! It was dying as dad has poisoned them but dropped it when I picked it up. Felt/feel terrible. Poor baby.

Ate lunch. Too much.

Random comment of the day: "I don't know what skew whiff means" said by my 18 year old brother. I told him to read a book. Seriously. Skew whiff. Hardly a word like duplicitous or something that barely anyone uses! I am ashamed of him at times.

Watched Doctor Who. Very much enjoyed. Heart-warming and fuzzy just what you want for Christmas day. Also yey Sherlock trailers!

And that's it for another year. Merry Christmas everyone!

Watching 1 vs. 100. Remembered why I like this program.

Haven't posted in ages on here but saw this on Tumblr (Japonicastar as usual is my username) and I had to share it.

HP fandom, I still love you!

In other news, super exited about Sherlock. It be back. My excitement is super nova and it's now 4 minutes less than 25 days to wait! YES!

Clicking whilst listening to Cabin Pressure. God it's brilliant!

You know that spider that jumped on my shoulder, crawled across my foot and hid under my wardrobe? It came out and sat behind my head.

Seriously. Stalker spider! How the christ am I supposed to sleep now? At least my stepdad came in and took it downstairs. Apparently it came right back in after being thrown out of the glass so it's still in the house.

Maybe the dog will eat it?

Oh my god, your worst nightmare just happened to me. I was washing my hands in my bathroom and I felt something crawling on my shoulder and I screamed and ran out of the room.

My bra strap had fallen down so I assumed it was my imagination so went back into the bathroom. Then a flipping massive spider ran across my foot. It was big and I'm not scared of spiders generally.

Typically it then decided to run in my room and hide under my wardrobe. Oh it was gross! Not happy it's in there!

If you are looking for an excellent, gen, BBC Sherlock fic (and who isn't?)then I have a rec for you, Tear Up Your List by Innie.

As Moriarty keeps baiting him with seemingly random acts of violence, Sherlock struggles to keep up and keep John safe, but then there's one puzzle that shakes Sherlock's support system entirely. The story is ostensibly a modern-day spin on hiatus fic - John thinks Sherlock is dead, Sherlock is trying to destroy Moriarty's criminal network. But it's really about Sherlock working through what John and Mycroft mean to him.

As I said, it's gen, well mostly and it's gritty, very gritty and dark in its way but the characters and their feelings for one another so warm and heartening. Clever fic really and written well.

I highly recommend my dears, and you know it's pretty good if I bother getting of my bum and stating it. X

Go glad that Martin Freeman and Sherlock won a BAFTA. Poor Benedict Cumberbatch didn't get an award to himself but we still love you.

Also, they've started filming again in Cardiff. So tempted to hop on the train and see if I can bump into him. Guh!

Anyhow, need more Sherlock recs please.

So today I'm proud to be British...

All the best wishes to Prince William and his new Duchess. ♥

So it's all [personal profile] schemingreader's fault, I am completely hooked on the BBC's, Sherlock.

I watched the first ten minutes on a plane back from Tokyo and when I saw [personal profile] schemingreader's post, I went and found the episodes online.

Watched the three episodes that currently exist and am currently devouring fics. Am really enjoying The Progress of Sherlock Holmes by Ivyblossom.

So please, can you reccomend some fics? I'm a Sherlock newbie so any recs would be much appreciated.

Anyway, back to it!

I have to post to say how sad I was to see this beautiful city and it's residents coping with this latest disaster.

I was in Christchurch just over a month ago and I loved it.

All my love to those effected and I hope this isn't an inappropriate picture in the circumstances, but here's the cathedral in better days...

Christchurch - NZ

This pictures on here are my taken by my dad and yes, the auburn/brown haired one is me. Feel free to be nosy, we won't mind.

Anyway, big hugs, we all need them I think.

You know when you finish reading something and your chest is fully of happy bubbles of joy that makes you want to share your happiness with everyone?

I'm like that this evening and a gorgeous fic in the name of Coffeehouse Jazz by Cayce Morris is the reason for it.

This fic is snarry, and it's warm and comforting with an emotional, tugging at the heart strings vibe as well.

I seriously don't understand why Cayce's name isn't being shouted from the roof tops, she is a prolific writer in her own right and a very good one at that so please, go and check her out.

So I haven't seen my friend since my birthday in December and we've both been on holiday in that time. When I invite her for a cuppa today, I got the reply "Oh well Andy's going out tonight so I can see you then."

Well that's nice, you really know how to make a girl feel special. You'll only see me because your boyfriend is going out. Nice!  You've spent 3 weeks with him, but I don't get a visit if he's available.

Is is hard for people to understand that a person likes their presence to matter and not to feel, I don't know, unwanted.

In any case she's now coming over for tea to talk about her perfect holiday, her perfect bloke and her perfect flaming job.

Seriously. I need a man, at least then I may not feel like I'm lost.  I need something anyway, a new job even.  I'm sick of being stuck in a rut and everyone else is getting married and having babies.

I hate putting on a happy front because it's killing me listening to these people go on and on about things I don't have.

Blegh I'm a hormonal mess today, many apologies!

It's my Birthday today and I woke up to snow. This is no surprise considering the rest of the country is covered but down here, we didn't get any. This is proper, thick stuff.

Utterly beautiful.

I have 8 cards and I am seeing my brother at lunch, but no one else is coming round to see me. I'm half lonely and melancholy and half happy that my mum is making me a cake and is upset on my behalf.

Oh well, there's always next year. My holiday in 2 weeks time will cheer me up... Maybe.

Cuddle me?

Have just seen DH for the second time. All I have to say is that I'm glad they got the Bristol connection in there. You noticed the big bridge that they camped under, it the Severn Bridge and it's a couple of miles down the road from me. Hah!

In respect of the film itself, I think I liked it the most of all the films, although it made me cry twice. It also made my love for Dobby all the more, I mean he rocks my mismatched, odd coloured socks.

Couple of things bugged me, but hey you can't ask for everything.

So I would suggest dearest HP fans watching it, if you haven't already.

Night. Xx

So the BBC posted film critics verdicts on Deathly Hallows and the Guardian made me snort with this:

"Part one sees Harry (Radcliffe) attempting to variously evade and defeat the dark lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes): the same mission as it ever was. The big difference this time around is that Hogwarts is now a memory and the school's absence forces our three young castaways to pursue their quest against a Wagnerian backdrop of damp forests and windswept coastlines.

This, it transpires, proves too onerous a task for Ron (Grint), who wimps out for a time and leaves Harry and Hermione (Watson) to go it alone. They cling to each other for comfort as the sexual tension sparks and gutters between them, much as it did for Frodo and Sam on the road to Mordor. Sometimes an illuminated deer will trot over to show them something important."

This particular critic isn't enamoured as is plain to see but that last line just made me laugh. I was a H/Hr shipper in my very early life of a HP fan (until Slash quickly put me in my place) and it just made me smile about the H/Hr slant then the immediate Snape and snarry slant lurking in the background.

I'm not sure what to feel about this next film. Yes I will go and watch it, even if its to moan about it. I just know it won't make me love this fandom. And I do, and I will more for the people and the fics than for the rest of it.

Nothing will ever beat the books for me, so throw money and special effects and the best British cast you can muster but you'll fall short. Book Harry, Snape, Dumbledore, Hermione and Ron just pwn their on-screen counterparts and nothing anybody ever makes will come close.

*falls off her soap-box by gesticulating wildly*

And to all I bid a good night!
